About Us

Hi, we’re Georgie and Pep and we’d like to tell you a little bit about our story of becoming partners in crime!

I (Georgie) was born in the UK but my parents and I moved to the Costa Blanca in 1986, when I was 9. We moved to a little town called Orba which is situated in the Marina Alta region (comarca). I had a great childhood, loving the local school, my friends, the amazing weather and the long summer holidays.

Orba, the small town where I spent most of my youth.

When I was 19 my mum and I opened an English shop in Orba which went from strength to strength. My mum retired in 2013 and I took over the shop, although I longed for a different lifestyle so, after much deliberation, I took the risk and sold the business in 2017.

I met Pep in early 2012. I had been looking for a good guitar teacher and a friend recommended him to me. In summer 2013 we became a couple. I sold my villa in Orba two years later and we started renting a house together until 2017, when we bought the house where we live now.

Pep was born and raised in Benissa, specifically in Pinos, one of the “Partidas” of Benissa. It’s a beautiful area on the road up to the Sierra Bernia.

His dad had been a farmer and Pep had taken an interest from an early age, learning how to grow vegetables, look after the land, keep chickens, etc. His dad died in 2010 and Pep took over the casita and most of the land that his dad owned, along with his two brothers. In total, Pep takes care of 40.000 square metres of land consisting mainly of olive and almond trees, plus what we have at our little casita. As you can imagine he is incredibly busy. At the same time he’s a guitar teacher in Sifasol, Benissa’s modern music school which he founded in 2005.

When I sold the shop I decided it was to time to start the lifestyle I’d always dreamed of living, so when we found this house with enough land to have our own allotment, we decided to go for it and haven’t looked back since. We live here with our 5 rescue cats who think it’s absolutely marvellous to have all this land to themselves.

Dora, the latest addition to our family. She enjoys helping us shell almonds on a Sunday morning!!

Apart from working on the land and everything that goes with it, another important part of our life is music. For several years now we’ve been part of various different groups (Daisy’s Swing Band, Georgie & The Firelights, Ocean Spray) and we play all over the Costa Blanca. We really love what we do!!

Well that more or less sums it up for now. Thank you for stopping by to read a little bit of our life’s journey so far.
